On Denver’s first offensive possession of the game, center Manny Ramirez snapped the ball while Peyton Manning was going to the line to address the guards. The ball would fly all the way into the end zone as Knowshon Moreno covered the ball for the safety putting the Seahawks up 2-0.

Here is why the Broncos had issues with the snap:

"Ramirez said after the game that no one on the team heard the snap count on the play, but he thought he did and he thought it was late so he let the ball fly as Manning was moving toward the line of scrimmage. Manning said the same thing, calling it a “cadence issue” caused by the noise from the crowd. That difficulty and the resulting mistake called to mind a decision coach John Fox made during the week."

Quarterback Peyton Manning didn’t take this question lightly as he was asked if he was embarrassed by the end result:

"“We put in a lot of hard work and effort,” Manning said. “The word ‘embarrassing,’ I think, is an insulting word.”“I’m disappointed for our entire team,” Manning said. “We worked hard to get to this point. Overcame a lot of obstacles to be here. Put in a lot of hard work just to have this opportunity. But to finish this way, it certainly is disappointing. It’s a bitter pill to swallow.”"

Head coach John Fox was quick to say that talk of Manning’s legacy is “ludicrous”:

"“I’d say, . . . I can’t really say it out loud, right here,” Fox replied. “I’d get in trouble.“Ludicrous would be proper English.”"

The Denver Broncos didn’t show up to play according to Demaryius Thomas and he was correct:

"“Yeah, it was embarrassing,” oncos receiver Demaryius Thomas. “It was the Super Bowl and we didn’t show up. As a group we didn’t show up.”"

Here is more from The Denver Post on what Del Rio had to say about Denver’s defense compared to Seattle’s:

"“We didn’t create any turnovers, they did,” said Broncos defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio. “I thought there were a couple sloppy saves but the tackling wasn’t what you need to have.”"
