Ty Lawson Banged Up In Denver Nuggets Loss To The Memphis Grizzlies, 100-92

The Denver Nuggets (33-43) fell to the Memphis Grizzlies Friday night at the FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee by the final score of 100-92. The Nuggets would suffer another injury as Ty Lawson went down late in the game holding his left ankle. Good news revealed after the game is that x-rays on Lawson’s ankle came back negative and he will be day-to-day, although there is no timetable for the guard at this time.

Zach Randolph would lead the Grizz yet again against the Nuggets, scoring 20 points on 7-of-22 shooting, collecting 15 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 3 blocks. His teammate Marc Gasol would put up some incredible numbers as well, scoring a game-high 24 points on 8-of-16 shooting to go along with 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 block. The Grizzlies however would lose small forward Tayshaun Prince after scoring 12 points before heading out with an ankle injury.

Denver is now 3-27 in games this season when they don’t score at least 100+ points. Shooting guard Randy Foye would lead the way for the Nuggets, scoring a team-high 21 points on 6-of-13 shooting, going 4-of-6 from behind-the-arc. Foye would also accumulate 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 block. Kenneth Faried continues to play well stemming off of the month of March. He scored 17 points tonight on 7-of-13 shooting, collecting 12 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal.

For the second consecutive game, Timofey Mozgov would connect for a three-point attempt. He would score 13 points on 4-of-10 shooting, pulling down just 3 rebounds. Aaron Brooks took Ty Lawson’s spot in the starting lineup Wednesday night after Lawson failed to make a team meeting on time. Brooks would score 11 points on 5-of-13 shooting while collecting 4 rebounds and 2 assists.

The Denver Nuggets (33-43) return to action Sunday night on the road against the Houston Rockets. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET, 5:00 PM MT.
