Big First Inning Sets Up Colorado Rockies Win Over The Philadelphia Phillies

The Colorado Rockies jumped all over Philadelphia Phillies right-handerJonathan PettiboneFriday night at Coors Field starting in the first inning.Charlie Blackmoncontinues to rake as the right-fielder began the game with a lead-off single through the hole in-between second and first. After aDrew Stubbssingle to left, Rockies shortstopTroy Tulowitzkiworked a 14-pitch walk to load the bases forJustin Morneau. Morneau came up big, hitting a ground-rule double to the left-center gap to score two as the Rockies took the early 2-0 lead.Wilin Rosariowould follow-up with an RBI ground out to score Tulo whileNolan Arenadosingled in Morneau for the four-run first.

The Rockies kept adding on in the second inning as Charlie Blackmon singled andCarlos Gonzalezwalked. After seeing 14-pitches in his prior at-bat, Troy Tulowitzki would hit a no-doubt three-run home run to put the Rockies up 7-0 right out of the gates.
