NBA Draft 2014: Denver Nuggets To Select With Pick Number Eleven

So much for seeing a player like Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, or Joel Embiid playing in a Denver Nuggets jersey next season. The Nuggets with their two first-round picks couldn’t land a top spot in the lottery as they will be selecting with the 11th overall pick in the upcoming draft in June.

The Cleveland Cavaliers stole the headlines once again as they landed the first overall pick with a low percentage of 1.7%. Denver had 0.8% chance to land it with their own pick and 0.7% chance to land it with the Knicks pick, but the luck didn’t float their way. The lucky ones in this draft would have to be of course the Cleveland Cavaliers, but the New York Knicks as well. The Knicks are lucky due to the fact that the draft pick they traded in the Carmelo Anthony trade didn’t end up being Wiggins, Parker, or Embiid.

As for the other pick the Nuggets had in the draft will go to the Orlando Magic at number 12. Denver traded the right’s to the pick and Arron Afflalo to the Magic to acquire wingman Andre Iguodala for just one season. Iguodala left the Nuggets the following summer to join the Golden State Warriors — the team that defeated Denver in the first-round of the playoffs.

Even though the Nuggets are slated to pick 11th overall, there are still some good options at that spot. James Young (Kentucky), Tyler Ennis (Syracuse), Nik Stauskas (Michigan) are some names that can fall to the Nuggets at the 11th pick.
