The Colorado Rockies (26-21) begin a brutal nine-game road trip starting in Atlanta tonight with a three-game set against the Braves. This stretch to end May will show if the Rockies are for real or not. Atlanta is hot right now, coming off of a four-game set with the NL Central leading Milwaukee Brewers, taking three out of four from the Brew Crew.

Jordan Lyles will take the hill for Colorado as he is looking to bounce back from his worst outing of the season. The right-hander lasted only 3 1/3 innings, giving up five hits, six runs, six earned, while walking six and striking out three. He saw his ERA go from 2.66 all the way up to 3.50. Outside of that horrific start, Lyles has been a pleasant addition to the Rockies rotation. He is looking for win number six on the season as he sits at a record of 5-1, with a 3.50 ERA.

Gavin Floyd will counter for the Atlanta Braves. This will be Floyd’s third start since coming off of offseason elbow surgery. He is coming off of a solid game pitched but his pitch count was relatively high. Against St. Louis on Sunday, Floyd went 5 1/3 innings, giving up seven hits, four runs, one earned, three walks, while striking out four. The 31-year-old is currently 0-1 on the season with a 2.41 ERA.
