The Colorado Rockies have been playing some bad baseball of late and it doesn’t get any easier with the team that’s coming to town. The St. Louis Cardinals (41-35), will try and extend the Rockies losing streak to seven-games starting tonight.

Pitching Matchup:

STL: Lance Lynn (7-5, 3.15 ERA)
COL: Jhoulys Chacin (1-5, 4.53 ERA)

Jhoulys Chacin will take the hill Monday night looking to put the six-game losing streak behind the team. Chacin has had some tough luck this season, not getting enough run support from a team that ranks first in the National League in runs scored. In his last start on June 17th against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Jhoulys made one mistake, giving up a two-run shot to Hanley Ramirez. He would go six strong, giving up three earned on seven hits, walking three and striking out five.

Lance Lynn opposes Chacin for the St. Louis Cardinals, looking for his 8th win of the season as he tries to extend Colorado’s losing streak to seven-games. The right-hander has pitched well of late, giving up just four earned over his last 19.0 innings pitched. Even though he picked up a loss in his last outing on June 18th to the New York Mets, he pitched well enough for his team to win. Lynn would throw six innings, giving up two earned on five hits, walking four while striking out five.

Rockies Lineup:

1: Charlie Blackmon – RF
2: Corey Dickerson – LF
3: Troy Tulowitzki – SS
4: Justin Morneau – 1B
5: Wilin Rosario – C
6: Drew Stubbs – CF
7: Charlie Culberson – 3B
8: DJ LeMahieu – 2B
9: Jhoulys Chacin – P

  • Rockies look to snap a six-game losing streak.
