The Colorado Rockies have been playing some terrible baseball of late as the St. Louis Cardinals extended the Rockies losing streak to seven-games last night with an 8-0 victory. Tonight, the Rockies look to get back on track and in the win column, hopefully.

Pitching Matchup:

STL: Shelby Miller (7-6, 3.56 ERA)
COL: Jorge De La Rosa (6-6, 4.75 ERA)

Jorge De La Rosa has struggled in his last four starts, going 0-3 with an ERA of 8.20 as he looks to end the Rockies seven-game skid. Jorge is coming off of his worst outing of the season and it may be due to the lingering lower-back problem. The Los Angeles Dodgers collected six hits off the southpaw, scoring eight runs (seven earned) while coming away with the 8-0 win. De La Rosa wasn’t hitting spots as he surrendered five walks and only struck out one.

Shelby Miller looks to extend the nightmare losing streak for the Colorado Rockies as he takes the hill for his 16th start of the season. Miller picked up his sixth loss of the season in his last outing, giving up four earned through 6.2 innings while surrendering seven hits. He made a mistake late in the game during the sixth inning, giving up a two-run home run to Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard. All-in-all, it wasn’t a bad outing. Miller is currently 7-6 on the season with an ERA of 3.56.
