The Colorado Rockies finally got back into the win column Tuesday night, defeating the St. Louis Cardinals by the final score of 10-5. Wednesday afternoon, they look for the series victory as both teams will have pitchers making their Major League debut.
Yohan Flande will be making his Major League debut for the Colorado Rockies which will be their 12th different starting pitcher this season. Flande will be taking Christian Bergman‘s spot in the starting rotation as he is out for up to six weeks in a broken bone in his left hand. Flande was with the Rockies Triple-A affiliate Colorado Springs Sky Sox where he went 2-9 on the season with an ERA of 4.42.
Marco Gonzales will oppose Flande, as he too is making his Major League debut. Gonzales is a 22-year-old southpaw who is from the state of Colorado. Gonzales played his high school ball at Rocky Mountain High in Fort Collins. He was pitching for the Double-A affiliate Springfield Cardinals, going 3-2 in 7 starts with an ERA of 2.33.
