This Colorado Rockies team that you may or may not have watched for the past couple of days or even past month has been a flat-out embarrassment to the fans. The team looked to be pushing for a playoff appearance early on but have now fell into the cellar of the Major League standings. Colorado looks to get back into the win column in game three of a four-game set against the Los Angeles Dodgers who took the first two games.
Dan Haren looks to hand the Colorado Rockies another loss and give his team the series victory Saturday afternoon. Haren looks to build on his last outing where he pitched phenomenal at home against the Cleveland Indians. Haren would pick up his 8th victory of the season as he through a one-hitter though seven innings, walking one and striking out five. Haren has yet to pitch against the Rockies this season but hasn’t fared well against them the past three years. Haren is 1-2 vs. Colorado with a 9.88 ERA, giving up 15 earned runs in 13.2 innings pitched.
Jorge De La Rosa will look to prevent the Rockies from the worst record in the Majors as he looks for his 9th victory of the season. De La Rosa picked up the win in his last outing in Milwaukee, yielding four earned runs on four hits, walking two and striking out four during six innings of work. He has won his last two starts, giving up eight earned in 13.0 innings, striking out seven and only walking two. With the Rockies continuing to struggle, expect De La Rosa’s name to be floating around during the trade deadline.
