Denver Nuggets Pick Up First Summer League Victory Over The Toronto Raptors

The Denver Nuggets opened up their 2014 Summer League schedule Saturday afternoon in Las Vegas, Nevada with a win over the Toronto Raptors, 104-83. A couple of familiar names led the attack for Denver as rookie Gary Harris exploded for a big game in his debut.

Harris, 19, was seemingly automatic from behind-the-arc. The guard would shoot 5-for-10 from downtown, finishing the game 10-of-17 overall from the field. Harris would wind up with 30 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals on the afternoon.

Quincy Miller, 21, was on top of his game as well. Quincy would log 33 total minutes, scoring 23 points on 5-of-9 shooting, connecting on 9-of-11 attempts from the charity stripe. Miller would also collect 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal throughout the game; earning a plus/minus rating of +14.

A familiar name in Erick Green was selected by the Nuggets in the second round of the 2013 draft, made quite the impression as well. The guard out of Virginia Tech would tally 17 points on the day to go along with 7 rebounds, 4 assists on 7-of-11 shooting.

Dwight Buycks led the way for the Toronto Raptors as the guard collected a team-high 21 points on 5-of-11 shooting. Buycks was solid for the free-throw line, shooting 9-for-10 as he would also add 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Teammate DeAndre Daniels would add 12 of his own points.

Former Colorado Buffaloes guard Carlon Brown played in just 13 minutes of action for the Nuggets, shooting 2-of-7 from the field with 7 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists.

The Nuggets (1-0) resume Summer League action tomorrow afternoon against the Chicago Bulls with tip-off scheduled for 8:00 PM ET, 6:00 PM MT.
