Things are going downhill and fast for the Colorado Rockies. Tonight, they enter the game on a six-game losing streak as a pair of All-Star players find themselves out. Troy Tulowitzki (thigh) and Justin Morneau (neck) will be out for the Colorado Rockies as the injury-plagued season rolls on.
Jordan Zimmermann has been dealing with a biceps injury but will take the hill tonight for the Washington Nationals, looking to earn the series victory. During Zimmermann’s last time out, the righty exited after just 3.1 innings, giving up four earned on six hits, but he did collect five strikeouts. Zimmermann pitched well against the Rockies on June 30th, giving up just two runs on seven hits through six innings of work.
Yohan Flande will get the start Tuesday night for the Colorado Rockies but has struggled in three career starts. The southpaw was just recently recalled where he last pitched for the Rockies back on July 6th. During that start against the Los Angels Dodgers, Flande gave up five earned runs on nine hits, walking two while failing to strike anyone out. The lefty is currently 0-2 in three career big league starts.
- DJ LeMahieu is 3-for-6 lifetime vs. Jordan Zimmermann with 1 RBI.
