DeMarcus Ware will miss his second consecutive game due to a nagging back injury.

DeMarcus Ware’s back injury flared up on him against the Indianapolis Colts in week nine of the NFL season. The injury forced Ware to leave the game early, and he missed the following week’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Denver Broncos’ head coach Gary Kubiak hoped that Ware would return to the field this week, but his injury continues to linger and hampers the star defensive end.

On Thursday, the Denver Broncos and Gary Kubiak came forward to state that DeMarcus Ware would miss his second consecutive game. The Denver Broncos’ defense has been exploited over the past two weeks; moreover, they failed to force a turnover in their last three games. Thus, with Ware out for the second-straight week, the Broncos need to gameplan how they will approach a Chicago Bears’ team currently with a full head of steam.

"“We had hoped maybe at the end of this we’d (DeMarcus Ware) start to do some field work and stuff. I don’t know. It’s a day at a time.” – Gary Kubiak"

With DeMarcus Ware ruled out for Sunday’s road game against the Chicago Bears, Shaquil Barrett will start in Ware’s place, with Shane Ray seeing some time as the primary backup. Kubiak has yet to decide whether or not Peyton Manning and Ware will travel with the team to Chicago, but he believes an answer will either come later today (11/20) or tomorrow. The Denver Broncos need Barrett to step up with Ware sidelined with his injury.

Also, the Denver Broncos get Aqib Talib back after he served his one game suspension against the Kansas City Chiefs for an incident that occurred against the Indianapolis Colts. The Broncos’ defense sees a boost with the return of Talib; however, they will still feel the injury to DeMarcus Ware. Additionally, with Peyton Manning out, the Broncos’ offensive side of the ball remains a question mark.

Brock Osweiler will get the first start of his career after coming into the game late last week. Emmanuel Sanders is still banged up from an ankle injury, but he is expected to play in this week’s matchup. Moreover, the Denver Broncos committed to using Ronnie Hillman as their starting running back against the Bears. Up until this point, he and C.J. Anderson have split carries out of the backfield, but Kubiak will go with Hillman as his starter this week.

The Denver Broncos need to re-enter the win column this week, but they face a tough matchup on the road in week 11. Coming off of back-to-back loses, Brock Osweiler looks to boost the Broncos’ offense and re-establish the team as one of the best in the NFL. Also, the Broncos’ defense needs to apply pressure to Jay Cutler and force him to make decisions fast. If they get to him early and often, expect the Broncos to accumulate a couple turnovers, despite the absence of DeMarcus Ware.
