Denver Broncos survive an injury-riddled Steelers squad at home, pulling away late to win 23-16.

After the Denver Broncos secured the top overall seed in the AFC, they were able to earn a first round bye and play the winner of the Steelers/Bengals game. The Steelers walked away with the victory last weekend, but it came at the expense of losing superstar wide receiver Antonio Brown and starting running back DeAngelo Williams. However, the Steelers cleared Ben Roethlisberger to play in the upcoming game against the Denver Broncos.

The Denver Broncos decided to turn to Peyton Manning to head their offense after he replaced Brock Osweiler mid-game and led the team to victory against the Chargers. By starting Sunday’s divisional round playoff game for the Denver Broncos, this marked the first time that Peyton Manning started at quarterback since his week 10 debacle against the Kansas City Chiefs. While Manning was injured, the Denver Broncos lost their matchup against the Steelers in the regular season.

With the Denver Broncos losing the regular season matchup against the Steelers, they looked to right the ship in the playoffs and win the game that matters most. The Denver Broncos hoped to lean on the NFL’s best defense, along with Peyton Manning behind center.
