Denver Broncos interested in Shonn Greene
By Drew Brown
The Broncos have reportedly been looking for a running back in free agency, and Shonn Greene seems like a logical player who the Broncos could land. The 27-year old has had some up-and-down years with the New York Jets, and is currently a free agent. Teams such as the Atlanta Falcons and Denver Broncos are interested in him, as the Falcons need to seek help at the running back position considering the likelihood of Michael Turner not returning.

Denver is a pass first team, and things could be balanced out with a guy like Greene. I’ve always had faith in Greene, and in his first full season without having to split carries with Ladanian Tomlinson/Thomas Jones, Greene rushed for 1,000 yards, and posted a decent season, especially for a player on the Jets. His carries in 2012 were cut into by Bilal Powell, who had 110 of the 386 carries between the two.
With an unsteady backfield in Denver, Greene could take the role as the lead running back. Willis McGahee is coming off of a tough knee surgery, and is getting more and more banged up by the game. Knowshown Moreno has all but ended his days as a Bronco, which leaves 21-year old, and second year player, Ronnie Hillman, as the only other back.

A lot of football fans know who Greene is, and Bronco fans should be happy if Denver’s front office manages to sign him. He’s only been in the league for four years, and has already ran for 1,000 yards twice. I’d like to believe he has a bright future ahead of him, and it would definitely continue if he were the featured back on a Superbowl caliber team.
