The Rockies added another piece to their roster Saturday afternoon, acquiring right handed relief pitcher, Bobby Cassevah. Cassevah was outrighted by the Angels on Friday, but he refused to go to Triple-A and elected free agency instead.
Cassevah will compete for a bullpen spot on the 25-man roster after getting an invite to Spring Training. He only pitched in four games last year for the Angels, but was used in 46 games the two years before that. His 3-3 record in those 50 games pitched isn’t enough to judge him as reliever but Cassevah has a chance to pitch in the Rockies bullpen at some point this season.
