Corey Brewer led the way for the Nuggets, scoring 22 points off the bench. Ty Lawson, fresh off of his Western Conference Player of the Week Award, contributed 18 points and 8 assists. The Nuggets didn’t have any superstar tonight, and played a solid game together, making it a nice team win. Five players scored in double figures for the Nuggets, and they dominated the paint for the majority of the night, picking up a total of 70 points down low. Kenneth Faried picked up yet another double-double with ten points and thirteen rebounds. Andre Igoudala played 34+ strong minutes for the Nuggets and picked up twelve points.
The Nuggets outshot the Hawks by 14% from the field and by 4% from three point land. They out rebounded Atlanta as well, finishing the game 48-35.
On another note, the Atlanta’s Josh Smith hit a solid milestone Monday night. Smith became the 24th player in NBA history to collect 10,000 points, 5,000 rebounds, 2,000 assists, and 1,000 blocks. He finished the night with 15 points, and the Hawks had trouble, as a whole, without three of their players. Kyle Korver, Zaza Pachulia, and DeShawn Stevenson were all inactive for the Hawks, which helped lead the Nuggets to their fifth consecutive win.
Up next for the Nuggets, they’ll travel to Sacramento to take on Kings Tuesday night.
