The Denver Broncos have a short week to prepare, and to heal, as they get ready to face the ballyhooed Philadelphia Eagles this weekend at Sports Authority Field. As of Friday, here is the Denver Broncos week four injury report (per NFL.com):
- Aaron Brewer, long snapper – Probable (Rib)
- Orlando Franklin, right tackle – Probable (Shoulder)
- Eric Decker, wide receiver – Probable (Shoulder)
- David Bruton, safety/special teams hero – Probable (Neck)
- C.J. Anderson, running back – Probable (Knee)
- Omar Bolden, safety – Probable (Shoulder)
- Tony Carter, cornerback – Probable (Ankle)
- Champ Bailey, cornerback – Questionable (Foot)
- Wes Welker, wide receiver – Probable (Thigh)
- Paris Lenon, linebacker – Doubtful (Thigh)
- Duke Ihenacho, safety/guy who flies around and makes plays – Questionable (Ankle)
- Demaryius Thomas, wide receiver – Probable (Ankle)
- Joel Dreessen, tight end/the guy phased out by Julius Thomas – Questionable (Knee)
- Chris Kuper, guard/really important player who doesn’t always get talked about – Probable (Ankle)
Of particular note are the questionable designations on Ihenacho and Bailey. So far the Broncos have been able to survive without the Champ, but things might get dicey if they do not have the emerging Ihenacho against Chip Kelly’s offense on Sunday.
Reports from practice did not provide too much more guidance as to the statuses of those two players.
The good news from the secondary is that Tony Carter is listed as probable and should be able to go Sunday. Otherwise this injury report, like most, is filled with probable designations that are of little note or concern. Having said that, you better believe I’m going to sweat it out until I know Aaron Brewer, long snapper, is ready to roll this weekend. I’m only kidding a little…
