Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno and corner back Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie were both injured in Sunday night’s loss against the New England Patriots, 34-31 in overtime. Here is a quote from Lindsay Jones twitter account.
"Jack Del Rio said Knowshon Moreno’s ankle is bruised. He’s day to day, as is DRC w minor shoulder injury."
Knowshon Moreno would rush for a career-high in yards; he had 37 carries, rushing for 224 yards and a touchdown. But he was hobbled in the second half .He ended up leaving Gillette Stadium on crutches as he was diagnosed with a bruised ankle.
Dominique Rogers-Cromartie on the other hand was injured at the end of the first half after the Patriots tried to get on the board with a hail-mary. Rogers-Cromartie laid out for a meaningless ball and was injured on the play. After that, Denver’s coverage seemed shaky, as they switched to a zone based defense, leaving many openings for Tom Brady.
This is a game where Broncos all-pro corner back Champ Bailey could have made a difference. Bailey has been suffering a foot injury all season, and would end up re-injuring that same foot earlier in the season against the Dallas Cowboys.
Julius Thomas sat out the game against the Patriots to a knee injury he suffered in the win against the Chiefs. He recently was battling an ankle injury, and is listed as day-to-day. He should be a go next Sunday.
The good news Broncos fans, is that Knowshon, Orange Julius, and Rogers-Cromartie are day-to-day and should be able to go Sunday afternoon against the Kansas City Chiefs, as both teams are entering the game at 9-2 in the AFC West.
