According to Mike Chambers of the Denver Post, Avalanche star center Matt Duchene will be doubtful to play against the St. Louis Blues Wednesday night at the Pepsi Center.
"Avalanche center Matt Duchene, who has missed the last three games with a oblique injury, was in orange and participated in some drills in Monday’s practice, before leaving the ice early. He was not available to comment but coach Patrick Roy said he will be “very surprised” if Duchene is able to play Wednesday against the visiting St. Louis Blues."
In 19 games played this season, Duchene has tallied 20 points; with 12 goals and 8 assists. Although he may be out against St Louis, Colorado did snap a three-game streak without him, winning three straight.
The Avalanche just came off of an entertaining 1-0 win in overtime against a tough team in the Los Angeles Kings. It was a battle all the way to the end, as Jamie McGinn got credit with the overtime goal.
The Avalanche currently sit in 3rd place in the Central Divison standings at 17-5 with 34 points.
