The Denver Broncos (11-2) are set to host the San Diego Chargers (6-7) in their second and final meeting of the 2013 regular season on Thursday Night Football. The Denver Broncos are coming off of a 51-28 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, while the San Diego Chargers are coming off a win over the New York Giants, 37-14.
What: Week 15: San Diego Chargers vs. Denver Broncos
When: Thursday, December 12th
Where: Sports Authority Field, Denver, Colorado
Time: 8:25 PM ET, 6:25 PM MT
TV: NFL Network.
Last Meeting:
The Denver Broncos would defeat the San Diego Chargers in Week 10, 28-20. Peyton Manning would have his way with San Diego, going 25-for-36 with 330 yards and 4 touchdown passes. Demaryius Thomas would have a day, catching seven passes for 108 yards and three touchdowns. Julius Thomas would be the other player with the touchdown as he caught a 74-yard touchdown, which was the second-longest play by a tight-end in franchise history. Danny Trevathan and Wesley Woodyard would lead the Broncos as each player would record 11 total tackles, Von Miller recorded a sack with six tackles. Chargers quarterback Phillip Rivers would complete 19-of-29 passes for 218 yards and a touchdown.
Preview:
Over the past two games, Peyton Manning has thrown for 800 yards while passing for nine touchdowns and just two interceptions. Manning is just five touchdowns shy of tying Tom Brady‘s single-season record for touchdowns that was set back in 2007. Phillip Rivers and the Chargers look to help out their playoff chances with an upset over the AFC favorite Denver Broncos.
"The Broncos have won four straight against the Chargers, including a 28-20 win in San Diego on Nov. 10, though the Chargers held the Broncos to a season-low 397 yards."
Keenan Allen has been a great addition for the San Diego Chargers this season. Allen was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of the university of California. He has caught 61 passes this season for 902 yards and six touchdowns.
The Denver Broncos can clinch the division this week with a win over San Diego and a Oakland win over Kansas City. Denver looks to continue their AFC West dominance as the team is 10-0 against divisional foes ever since Peyton Manning joined the club. Look for that trend to continue this Thursday night. Peyton Manning and company will be too much for the Chargers defense as I have Denver holding on for their 12th win of the season.
