The Denver Nuggets took another hit in the injury department last night as they were already without all-star hopeful Ty Lawson. Speaking of Ty Lawson, tune into TNT tonight around 7:00 PM ET, 5:00 PM MT to see the if he makes the all-star team as a reserve. Back to the story, Nate Robinson went down attacking the hoop last night in the first quarter and was out for the rest of the game. He was evaluated today and found out that the guard had a sprained left ACL.
According to the Denver Nuggets twitter account, Nate will be ruled out for tomorrow’s game against the Toronto Raptors. In that case, back-up guard Evan Fournier will likely see an increased role and has been playing well of late. He tied a season-high in points scored in a game last night against the Charlotte Bobcats with 19 points on 8-of-21 shooting. In the team’s last five-games, Fournier has averaged 10.0 points per game and 2.8 rebounds while shooting (7-of-17), 41.2% percent from deep.
The Nuggets hope to have Ty Lawson back for Friday’s game as he sat out last night’s contest with a shoulder injury. A player to keep an eye out for in Friday’s home game against the Toronto Raptors is center Timofey Mozgov. Mozzy played 27 minutes and didn’t disappoint. He scored 15 points while adding 14 rebounds; collecting his fifth double-double of the season. Last meeting with the Raptors on Dec. 1st, Mozgov recorded a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds.
Denver Nuggets (22-22) take on the Toronto Raptors Friday night at the Pepsi Center. Tip-Off is scheduled for 9:00 PM ET, 7:00 PM MT.
