RIGHT & WRONG
Peyton Manning:
This may be surprising to you, but Peyton Manning I thought played pretty good despite throwing two interceptions. Manning finished the game with a Super Bowl record of 34 completions while passing for 280 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. His quarterback rating was a low 24.4 but fared well for how much pass rush and hurries he faced. Manning’s first interception that was intended for Julius Thomas was hurried due to the pressure and he overthrew the big target into the hands of Seattle’s ball-hawking safety Kam Chancellor.
His second interception was something that could have happened to everyone, Cliff Avril got in the face of Manning and his arm en route to throwing the ball, causing it to deflect high in the air as Malcolm Smith took it all the way for the pick-six.
