Lawson Exits With Injury As Nuggets Fall
The Denver Nuggets (24-25) fell below .500 on the season as the Detroit Pistons handled them by the final of 126-109. If you don’t like to watch teams play defense, well… this was the game to watch. The game was pretty much even heading up to halftime as Detroit took the lead 65-61. However, Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson left the game with a back-injury and he would not return. Here is more on the status of the point guard:
It would go downhill from the Nuggets from that point on as they had no point guards left on the roster. Incase you haven’t been following the Nuggets, back-up point guard Nate Robinson is out for the season with a torn ACL and veteran point guard Andre Miller is not with the team due to personal reasons.
Detroit Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings would go off for 35 points on 11-of-22 shooting, knocking down 6-of-11 shots from behind-the-arc. The guard would also accumulate 12 assists and 2 steals. Denver wouldn’t have an answer for small-forward Josh Smith either. Smith would drop 30 points on 14-of-27 from the field with 10 rebounds, 8 assists, and 4 steals.
Andre Drummond would be force on the glass for the Detroit Pistons as he recorded a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds. Eight of his fifteen rebounds were offensive; not a good sign for the Denver Nuggets. Randy Foye would score a team-high 25 points on 9-of-16 shooting, including 5-of-12 from deep. He would assume the point guard role with Lawson out.
Wilson Chandler would put together a solid game for the Nuggets as he scored 20 points on 6-of-13 shooting. All six of his converted shots were three-pointers as he was 6-of-10 from distance. J.J. Hickson had one of the dunks of the night as he collected 15 points and 16 rebounds. Here is a GIF thanks to the guys at theScore.

Denver would have another problem holding onto the ball tonight. After last night’s turnover fest with the New York Knicks, they turned the ball over 20 times tonight. They would also struggle miserably at the charity stripe. They converted just 12-of-22 free-throws at the line for a terrible percentage of 54.5% percent.
Regarding point-guard Ty Lawson he is day-to-day with a left lower back strain.
The Denver Nuggets (24-25) return to action on Monday night as they continue their road-trip against the Indiana Pacers. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET, 5:00 PM MT.
