Avalanche center Paul Stastny scored two goals for Team USA as they defeated Slovakia’s National team by the final score of 7-1. Stastny and Team USA will resume tournament play Saturday morning against Team Russia. – Mile High Maniac

Semyon Varlamov and Team Russia would defeat Slovenia by the final score of 5-2. Varly would stop 12-of-14 saves in the winning effort. As noted above, they will take on Team USA Saturday morning. – The Denver Post

Montee Ball stated he wants the ball every time next year and wants to start for the Denver Broncos. “I think I’m going to have a great offseason, and I’m going to have a better season next year for sure.” It’s not known if Denver is going to make an attempt at resigning Knowshon Moreno, but Ball could be the guy moving forward for John Elway‘s Broncos. – The Denver Post
