Buffs Are A 10th Seed In Lastest Bracketology

The Colorado Buffaloes (19-7, 8-5 in Pac-12 play) are coming off of a key win on the road over the USC Trojans on Sunday night. They couldn’t afford a bad loss to a team that only had one conference win entering the game which would have effected their RPI substantially. Colorado lost their leading scorer and arguably their best player in Spencer Dinwiddie on Jan. 12th against the Washington Huskies and have played well enough going 5-4 without him.

Joe Lundari who is a Bracketologist for ESPN, came out with this weeks predictions for the big dance as of right now. To view more on the bracket as it currently stands, make sure to follow the link. As for the Colorado Buffaloes, he has placed them as the 10th seed in the Western Bracket (Anaheim). As for the opponent, he has them playing the North Carolina Tar Heels which would be the 7th seed.

Colorado has a brutal remaining schedule in the Pac-12 from this point on as they will take on the Arizona State Sun Devils on Wednesday, followed by the #4 ranked Arizona Wildcats on Saturday — which will be their final home game this season at the Coors Event Center. Then they will finish the regular season on a three-game road-trip starting with the Utah Utes, then the Standford Cardinal, then they will finish off the regular season with the California Golden Bears.

Colorado recently inserted power forward Wesley Gordon who was out with an injury as he missed the teams previous two games. Gordon who is a red shirt freshman will be a key player in the post for the Buffs moving forward to get into the big dance. Xavier Johnson has come on of late in the absence of Dinwiddie, averaging 18.4 points per game and 8.4 rebounds in the last five games.
