Colorado would enter halftime tied up with Utah at 30-30, but Utah pulled away in the second, outscoring the Buffaloes 45-34 thanks to a sloppy effort from CU’s passing. Colorado tried to feed Josh Scott as much as possible but got a little too carried away with lackadaisical passes that led to easy buckets for the Utes.

Josh Scott only had two points at halftime but turned it up in the second half, scoring 17 points on 4-of-7 shooting, knocking down all nine of his free-throw attempts. Scott would also accumulate 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. It was one of those days for Buffs shooting guard Askia Booker who struggled from the field. The junior would shoot just 1-of-8 from the field, finishing with 4 points, 6 assists, and 2 steals.

Colorado dealt with foul trouble throughout most of the game as well as Xavier Johnson finished with four fouls, Dustin Thomas finished with four fouls, while Josh Scott and Askia Booker each finished with three.

While the Buffs couldn’t contain Delon Wright, they couldn’t do the same with Jordan Loveridge who tied a game-high with 21 points on 9-of-14 shooting, collecting 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. Utah shot an impressive 28-of-47 from the field, 59.6% while the Buffaloes shot 21-of-53, 39.6% which wasn’t getting it done.
