The Colorado Rockies are now 1-2 in Cactus League play as they would take the loss to the Milwaukee Brewers Sunday afternoon, 6-5. Rockies southpaw Jorge De La Rosa would get roughed up in his first tune-up before the regular season, pitching just 1.2 innings, giving up 4 runs on 4 hits while walking 2. He would also give up a solo shot to Rickie Weeks.

For the Brewers, newly signed free-agent pitcher Matt Garza would also get roughed up. He would pitch just 1.0 inning, giving up 4 runs on 4 hits, walking 2 batters. Rockies signed Michael McKenry in the offseason to supply some competition with Jordan Pacheco for the back-up catcher role. McKenry would go 1-for-3 with a two RBI double that would plate Carlos Gonzalez and Michael Cuddyer.
Rockies outfielder Brandon Barnes continues to make an impression in camp as he tries to land a fourth outfield spot on the roster. Barnes would go 1-for-2 in today’s game, collecting an RBI single to bring in McKenry after his 2-RBI double.
The Colorado Rockies (1-2 in Cactus League Play) return to action tomorrow as they will have split-squads. First game is against the Seattle Mariners at 1:05 PM MT, and the second game will be at 7:10 PM MT against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
