Kenneth Faried’s Career-High Night Helps Denver Nuggets Blow Out New Orleans Pelicans, 137-107

The Denver Nuggets (33-42) had their way with the New Orleans Pelicans Wednesday night by the final score of 137-107. Kenneth Faried would record a career-high scoring 34 points on 14-of-19 shooting, collecting 13 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 blocks. Nuggets small forward Wilson Chandler did not play once again as he is dealing with a left groin strain.

Denver got out to a great start, outscoring the Pelicans 40-26 in the first quarter. Denver would score 30+ points in every quarter en route to blowing out the Pelicans. Timofey Mozgov would have another big night in the starting lineup, scoring 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting, collecting 2 rebounds and 2 blocks in the winning effort. He would also go a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe while also hitting a three-pointer.

Pelicans guard/forward Tyreke Evans would have himself a game as well. He would score 27 points on 9-of-17 shooting to go along with 8 rebounds, 3 assists and knocked down 9-of-9 free-throw attempts. Shooting guard Anthony Morrow provided scoring off of the bench for New Orleans, scoring 17 points on 5-of-12 shooting, hitting two three-balls.

Aaron Brooks continues to show he belongs in the league as the guard out of Oregon went off. He would score 24 points off of the bench on 9-of-12 shooing, hitting six three-pointers on eight attempts. Nuggets starting point guard Ty Lawson started out the game with eight quick points but cooled off, scoring 14 points on 3-of-7 shooting. Lawson was effective at getting to the line however, converting 8-of-10 attempts from the stripe.

The Denver Nuggets (33-42) return to action Friday night as they take on the Memphis Grizzlies at the FedExForum. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET, 5:00 PM MT.
