The Colorado Rockies bounced back from a bullpen blow up in Sunday’s loss to the Philadelphia Phillies, coming away with a comfortable win over the San Francisco Giants, 8-2. Rockies starter Jorge De La Rosa dealt with pitch count issues yet again but kept the Giants damage to a minimum. In the third inning, San Francisco had the bases loaded with no outs and a pretty good hitter in Buster Posey up to bat. JDLR would get Posey to break his bat, grounding into a 4-6-3 double play to allow just one run. De La Rosa would finish the night picking up the win with five innings pitched, five hits, one run, one earned, three walks while striking out five batters.

The Rockies would chase Giants starter Ryan Vogelsong out of the game early with a big first inning. Nolan Arenado was moved up to the two-hole with Michael Cuddyer on the disabled list, hitting a solo home run to extend his hitting streak to a career-best 12 games. After a Troy Tulowitzki walk and Justin Morneau double, Wilin Rosario would belt a three-run home run to left to put the Rockies ahead 4-0. In the second inning, Charlie Blackmon would lead off with a solo shot of his own to put the Rockies ahead 5-0. Vogelsong would get pulled after just 1.1 innings pitched, giving up six hits, five runs, five earned, and three walks.

Corey Dickerson did a good job replacing Cuddy in the lineup Monday night, going 3-for-4 with a home run, one run and two runs batted in. Charlie Blackmon would tag his second home run of the game in the eighth inning as he continues to tear the cover off of the ball.
