The Colorado Rockies (27-22) received a wonderful performance from Juan Nicasio in Saturday afternoons victory over the Atlanta Braves, collecting a 3-1 victory. Nicasio would go six strong, giving up just two hits while striking out five Braves. Colorado looks for the series victory today as they continue their nine-game road trip.
Franklin Morales takes the hill for the Colorado Rockies as he looks to build on his last performance. The 28-year-old southpaw threw six innings last Tuesday against the San Francisco Giants, giving up five hits, three runs, one walk, while striking out six. Prior to that start, Morales lost two-straight starts, giving up eight earned runs in 11.0 innings of work — including three home runs.
Julio Teheran will look to give the Atlanta Braves a series win as he has provided a spark in their rotation. The 23-year-old righty has done nothing but give the Braves a chance to win as he sits with a record of 3-3 on the season, with a very low ERA of 1.92. He is coming off of a dominant performance against the Milwaukee Brewers where he completed his second shutout of the season, giving up six hits, two walks, while striking out eight.
