The wait is finally over for Colorado Rockies fans as one of their top two pitching prospects is expected to make the jump the big leagues. According to sources telling MLB.com via Thomas Harding, Rockies #2 prospect Eddie Butler is slated to make his Major League debut Friday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
It was expected Colorado was going to call someone up after Franklin Morales faltered in his latest start. The southpaw gave up two home runs in his start against Cleveland Saturday afternoon while giving up six runs over 5.1 innings.
Butler is expected to take his spot in the rotation which would be Friday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Butler went 4-4 in 11 starts with the Double-A affiliate Tulsa Drillers while collecting an ERA of 2.49.
Morales will slide into the pen as Butler will take his spot in the rotation.
