MLB Preview: Hyun-Jin Ryu vs. Eddie Butler

With the Colorado Rockies now on a seven-game losing streak, they will turn to 23-year-old Eddie Butler who will be making his Major League debut on the mound. Colorado just got swept in a three-game set against the Arizona Diamondbacks as they now switch gears to face the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Eddie Butler is making his first MLB start and is the Colorado Rockies number two prospect according to MLB.com. Butler went 4-4 with the Double-A affiliate Tulsa Drillers, recording an ERA of 2.49 — leading the team in innings pitched. Butler was fantastic in his last four starts, recording a record of 3-0 with an ERA of 0.74.

Hyun-jin Ryu will take the mound for the Los Angeles Dodgers and has fared pretty well on the road. He is currently 4-0 away from Dodger Stadium with 32 strikeouts and an ERA of 0.56 — leading the MLB. Ryu is coming off of a solid performance in his last outing against the Pittsburgh Pirates, giving up 10 hits and two runs over six innings earning his sixth victory of the season and his third consecutive.
