The Colorado Rockies finally got back into the win column Saturday afternoon, snapping an eight-game skid thanks to a walk-off RBI triple. This afternoon, they look to build on yesterday’s win as they face one of the top pitchers in the game today.
Pitching Matchup:
LAD: Clayton Kershaw: (4-2, 3.32 ERA)
COL: Jorge De La Rosa: (6-4, 3.68 ERA)
Jorge De La Rosa looks to keep the Rockies in the win column as the ace takes the hill for Colorado. De La Rosa didn’t have his sharp command last outing against the D’Backs we were accustomed to in his previous starts, but he still pitched well enough to keep his team in the game. Jorge surrendered seven hits and three runs over seven innings, walking three as the southpaw failed to collect a strikeout in the game for the first time this season.
Clayton Kershaw will counter for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Kershaw is a tough matchup anytime he takes the hill and is coming off of his deepest outing this season. Against the White Sox, Kershaw gave up just four hits and two runs over eight strong innings while striking out nine batters for the third consecutive start in-a-row. The two earned runs he gave up came off of a two-run shot from White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu.
