It’s not everyday you see the Denver Nuggets rumored to be making a plunge at an elite All-Star caliber player. Well, according to Baxter Holmes who is a Boston Celtics beat writer for the Boston Globe, had league sources tell him the Nuggets are a team rumored to be in the mix for the Wolves power forward.

More from Denver Nuggets

We’ve heard rumors about Kevin Love willing to test the free agent market in 2015 when he becomes a free-agent. He is reportedly unhappy with the continual losing ways of the Timberwolves (who wouldn’t be) and is looking to join a contender. Although Denver didn’t fit the category of a contender last season, they had injuries to blame for missing the playoffs for the first time since drafting Syracuse forward Carmelo Anthony back in 2003.

Denver has a variety of trade packages they could offer the Timberwolves, featuring around power forward Kenneth Faried. Faried struggled adapting to Brian Shaw‘s half-court offense at the beginning of the season, but turned it on late, averaging 19.2 points, 9.8 rebounds in the month of March and 21.0 points, 13.0 rebounds in the month of April.

Here are the other players/picks that could be rumored in a deal featuring Kevin Love:

Wilson Chandler, SF. Averaged 13.6 points, 1.8 assists, 4.7 rebounds in 2013-14′.

Kenneth Faried, PF. Averaged 13.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, 0.9 blocks in 2013-14′.

Danilo Gallinari, SF. Averaged 16.2 points, 2.5 assists, 5.2 rebounds in 2012-13′. Missed all of last season with a torn left ACL.

JaVale McGee, C. Averaged 7.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.4 blocks in 2013-14. Played in just five games due to a stress fracture.

Timofey Mozgov, C. Averaged 9.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks in 2013-14′.

Denver also holds the 11th overall pick in the upcoming 2014 NBA draft, including a 2015 first-rounder, and the rights to swap first-round picks with the New York Knicks (Carmelo Anthony trade, 2011) in the year 2016.

The NBA Draft is scheduled to begin on June 26th and we could see a slew of moves regarding the Denver Nuggets.
