According to the Colorado Avalanche official twitter page, the team came to terms with forward Jamie McGinn, agreeing to a two-year deal. McGinn will earn around 5.9 million for the two seasons, 2.9 million for the first and 3.0 million for the second. Jamie McGinn would announce the signing on his Twitter account and was repping the Toronto Blue Jays.

Colorado still have some work to do with certain free-agents regarding Paul Stastny, Ryan O’Reilly, and Tyson Barrie.

McGinn had a career-year in production as a third-line winger, scoring 38 points on 19 goals and 19 assists. McGinn would also add five points in the first-round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs where he collected two goals and three assists against the Minnesota Wild. The season was a strange one for him as well as he was reportedly in the dog house of rookie head coach Patrick Roy.

One thing that will be interesting is if this deal somehow affects the potential signings of Stastny and O’Reilly. That will be something to look out for within the next month or so.
