The Colorado Rockies won five-straight prior to facing the Los Angeles Dodgers this past week. Now, they are on the verge of losing five-straight as the Milwaukee Brewers took game one of a three-game series. Despite the dreadful pitching, Colorado’s 1-5 hitters went a combined 14-for-24 (.583) last night with 4 doubles, 2 home runs, and 8 RBI’s.
Pitching Matchup:
MIL: Wily Peralta (7-5, 2.98 ERA)
COL: Christian Friedrich (0-0, 0.00 ERA)
Christian Friedrich will be taking the mound for the Colorado Rockies and will be making his first start of the season and his first Major League start since 2012. During that 2012 season, Friedrich would suffer a stress fracture in his lower back, causing him to sit out most of the 2013 season. He hasn’t had the same success since coming back as he was 1-8 this season with the Triple-A affiliate Colorado Springs Sky Sox, sitting at an ERA of 7.89 in 13 starts.
Wily Peralta will go for the Milwaukee Brewers and has been a valuable pitch of the rotation. The 25-year-old native of the Dominican Republic is currently 7-5 on the season with an ERA just under three. Peralta was dominant in his last outing against the Arizona Diamondbacks, giving up three runs on nine hits through seven innings, striking out six. With that win in his last start, Peralta has won three consecutive starts.

7: Michael McKenry – C
8: DJ LeMahieu – 2B
