The last time the Colorado Rockies faced the Milwaukee Brewers, the bats were performing like usual. However, the starting pitching and defense struggled as the Brewers came away with a three-game sweep of the Rockies at Coors Field. This time, the Rockies look to return the favor at Miller Park where they will take part in a four-game set.
Pitching Matchup:
COL: Christian Friedrich (0-1, 6.00 ERA)
MIL: Wily Peralta (8-5, 3.02 ERA).
Christian Friedrich will get the call for the Colorado Rockies and looks to rebound after a tough start last week against the Brewers. He ended up tossing six innings, giving up nine runs (four earned), three walks, and struck out three. His defense didn’t give him much help in his first start this season as they collected four errors — two of which came from third baseman Josh Rutledge.
Wily Peralta will counter for the Milwaukee Brewers and looks to continue where he left off against the Rockies. Peralta picked up his 8th win of the season last week, throwing 7.2 innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on eight hits while walking one and striking out two. He was very efficient at getting the Rockies to hit the ball on the ground, collecting 17 ground ball outs to 4 fly balls.
