The Denver Nuggets made a move early Thursday morning on the day of the 2014 NBA Draft. They would send G/F Evan Fournier and the 56th overall pick (2nd round) in the 2014 NBA Draft, to the Orlando Magic for SG/SF Arron Afflalo.

Initially, I would have thought that the Nuggets would have to include the 11th overall pick to land the do-it-all guard in Afflalo — but I guess not.

Afflalo spent three seasons in the Mile High City before getting traded in a four-team deal which sent Afflalo to the Magic and Andre Iguodala to the Denver Nuggets. It never turned out to be a good trade for the Nuggets who saw Iggy leave the team after one season for free-agency.

Arron averaged 11.9 points per game in his three seasons with the Nuggets, collecting 2.1 assists and 3.3 rebounds. He will be a tremendous addition from the three-point line and from the charity stripe — where the Nuggets struggle.

Fournier, 21, has shown flashes of offensive potential, but he is still learning to play defense at the NBA level. In his two-years as a member of the Nuggets, Fournier averaged 7.4 points, 1.4 assists, and 2.1 rebounds. He shot 76% percent from the line while shooting 38.1% percent from deep.

Make sure to turn into the NBA Draft tonight that begins at 7:00 PM ET, 5:00 PM MT. The Denver Nuggets will hold the 11th overall pick and the 41st overall selection.
