NBA Draft 2014: Denver Nuggets Trade Doug McDermott To The Chicago Bulls For The 16th and 19th Overall Selections

With the 11th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, the Denver Nuggets selected Doug McDermott, small forward, Creighton. Then all of a sudden, McDermott’s era in a Denver was over. Denver would end up trading McDermott’s rights to the Chicago Bulls for their 16th and 19th overall picks.

Denver fans saw the pick and immediately turned into McDermott fan’s then realized he was gone five minutes later. Doug would end up scoring 3,150 career points which was 5th in NCAA Divison I history. He was one of three players in NCAA history to record 3,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.
He was named the 2013-14′ Big East Player of the Year and the 2013-14′ Consensus National Player of the Year.
McDermott averaged 26.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists his senior year at Creighton University. He ended up averaging 21.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in his four-year college career.
It will be interesting to see which route the Nuggets go with the 16th and 19th overall selections.
