Colorado Avalanche Sign Maxim Noreau To A Two-Year Deal

According to Adrian Dater of The Denver Post, the Colorado Avalanche came to terms with defenseman Maxim Noreau Monday afternoon on a two-year deal worth $1.25 million.

Noreau, 27, has been played over in the Swiss-A league for the past three seasons for Ambri-Potta. The 6-foot, 195 pound defenseman recorded eight goals last season as he collected 24 points in 35 games played.

Maxim has also spent brief time with the Minnesota Wild where he appeared in one game in 2009-10′ and 5 games in 2010-11′. During the 2010-11′ season, Noreau played for the AHL Houston Aeros where he scored 10 goals, 44 assists through 76 games.

Colorado has already had a busy free agency period where they added veterans such as Jarome Iginla, Brad Stuart, Daniel Briere, and Jesse Winchester.
