Eric Stults has had a very successful time facing the Colorado Rockies in years past and his numbers prove it. Stults is 2-0 in three career starts with an ERA of 3.05 as the southpaw has kept them off-balance. Even more bad news for Colorado, Stults is coming off of his best start all season against the San Francisco Giants. Stults hurled seven strong innings, giving up just four hits while walking two and striking out six. The southpaw has only given up four earned runs in his last 19.1 innings pitched.
Jair Jurrjens will be making his second start in a Colorado Rockies uniform as he looks to bounce back from a rough outing. Jurrjens wasn’t fooling anyone on July 4th as the Los Angeles Dodgers tee’d off for 12 hits off of Jurrjens, scoring eight runs; including two home runs. Jurrjens was pulled after 4.2 innings after experiencing breathing issues that sent him to the hospital.
