You could say the Dexter Fowler for Jordan Lyles and Brandon Barnes was the steal of the trade, but Drew Stubbs for Josh Outman hands down wins the award.
Stubbs, 29, is exceeding everyone’s expectations as he is hitting .292/.329/.500 with 13 doubles, 2 triples, 10 home runs, 27 RBI’s, and 14 walks. His strikeout numbers are still pretty high but he is hitting at a high average for the first time in his career.
The Indians went on to DFA Josh Outman midway through the first half which makes this an absolute steal.
Stubbs, along with Brandon Barnes and Corey Dickerson, have done solid jobs in rotating in the lineup every other day. Colorado usually goes with the hotter bat in the lineup or matchup’s preferably.
