The Colorado Rockies are coming off of a three-game sweep via the Pittsburgh Pirates as they now face the top team in the National League East — Washington Nationals. Colorado’s starters were pitched exceptionally well to win all three ballgames, but the bullpen faltered in all three, resulting in a sweep.
Pitching Matchup:
WSH: Doug Fister (8-2, 2.90 ERA)
COL: Franklin Morales (5-4, 5.26 ERA)

Doug Fister will take the hill for the Washington Nationals and has proved to be a key pick-up in the offseason from the Detroit Tigers. Fister started the year on the disabled list but didn’t miss a beat. The righty is currently 8-2 on the season with a 2.90 ERA. In his last start against the Baltimore Orioles, Fister gave up just two runs on seven hits, walking two and striking out three on his way to his 8th win of the season.
Franklin Morales will get the nod for the Colorado Rockies, looking to snap their five-game losing streak. Morales snuck out the win in his last outing against the San Diego Padres, throwing just 5.2 innings, giving up one earned on four hits while striking out six. The southpaw will get a test against a Nationals lineup that is scary from top-to-bottom.
