According to Adam Rubin who covers the New York Mets for ESPN New York, the Mets have recently inquired about Colorado Rockies All-Stars Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez.
Tulowitzki, 29, is currently on the 15-day disabled list after a quad injury he suffered running down the first base line. The All-Star shortstop has dealt with his fair share of injuries entering the 2014 season. Tulowitzki was hitting at an MLB best .340 prior the injury, collecting 21 home runs and 52 RBI’s. All I have to say is if the Rockies trade Tulo, the fans will not be happy.

Gonzalez, 28, on the other hand has been slumping of late after coming back from finger surgery. The native of Maracaibo, Venezuela is hitting a career-low of .250 entering Friday’s action with 9 home runs and 34 RBI’s. Over the past five games, CarGo has stuck out 10 times; five of those coming in one game. CarGo may be trying to find his swing after a month off but his plate discipline has been a concern.
I’m positive the Rockies could be asking the Mets for Zack Wheeler and prospects in return. The Rockies recently offered Jorge De La Rosa to the Baltimore Orioles for Kevin Gausman which fell through.
I do not see the Rockies trading Tulowitzki but Carlos Gonzalez could definitely be on his way out of the Mile High City.
