Football season is finally here! The Denver Broncos opened up day one of Training Camp Thursday afternoon as we saw the team come together in their annual drills. One key player was missing however as wide receiver Demaryius Thomas has been given a leave of absence to deal with a death in his family. Thomas has been excused from camp until Monday.

We saw Peyton Manning throw a beautiful over the shoulder pass to Emmanuel Sanders who burned cornerback Tony Carter on 1-on-1 coverage. Can’t say enough about the addition of Sanders who will be filling in for now New York Jet, Eric Decker. Sanders speed will prove beneficial on the opposite site of Demaryius Thomas; not to mention all the other weapons the Broncos offense possesses.
Manning would also connect with slot receiver Wes Welker over the top, just out of the reach of cornerback/safety Omar Bolden. There has been talk that this could possibly be Welker’s last season as a member of the Denver Broncos with the signing of Emmauel Sanders and the second round selection of Cody Latimer. The Broncos have depth at the wide receiver position this year in case Welker goes down with another concussion.
Oh yeah, DeMarcus Ware sure looks good in a Denver Broncos uniform. He and Von Miller have become the best of friends as it seems as they were side-by-side during the teams stretching routine. Ware’s goal is for the Broncos to have the number one offense and the number one defense.
Maybe the highlight of the day was Broncos back-up quarterback Brock Osweiler hitting rookie Cody Latimer on a deep route for a touchdown, burning first-round pick Bradley Roby who was on the coverage. Latimer talked with the media afterwards and said his foot felt 100%.
Broncos cornerback Chris Harris expects to visit with Dr. James Andrews Monday morning and could possibly be cleared to do individual reps like Von Miller is doing right now.
Day one of Denver Broncos training camp is in the books as we look forward to day two.
