Rafael Ynoa is the latest Colorado Rockie to make his Major League debut. In fact, he was the 11th member of the team to make their big league debut this season. Ynoa got in during the fifth inning in a double switch in which Yohan Flande relieved Franklin Morales as starting second baseman DJ LeMahieu was pulled from the game in favor of the September call-up.

Ynoa finished the night going 3-for-4, including an RBI single and a key hit in the bottom half of the ninth which led to a Rockies 10-9 victory over the Giants. Speaking of September call-ups, Ben Paulsen continues to make an impression in a Rockies uniform. Paulsen pinch-hit in the bottom half of the seventh inning and delivered a two-run home run to give the Rockies an 8-7 lead.

More from Colorado Rockies

LaTroy Hawkins has been a wonderful addition all year for the Rockies but the 41-year-old veteran reliever had a hiccup in today’s outing. Hawk would pick up just his second blown-save all season (22/24 converted) but in return would pick up the victory moving him to 3-2 on the season.

In the bottom half of the ninth, the Rockies were tied with the Giants 9-9 and looking for a hero. Who better to come through in the clutch than Charlie Blackmon who has hit a slump of late. The right-fielder would deliver an RBI single to right to plate Michael McKenry who was at third to give the Rockies a 10-9 win.

Colorado lost in the earlier game, 4-2 which was a make-up from May 22nd as the game was suspended due to rain. The Rockies and Giants will resume action Tuesday night in-game two of a three-game set as the Rockies will send Jordan Lyles to the hill. Yusmeiro Petit will counter for the Giants as the game will begin at 8:40 PM ET, 6:40 PM MST.
