We are entering week two of the National League Football season as we look forward to the Denver Broncos next opponent, the Kansas City Chiefs. Kansas City is a playoff team from a year ago that didn’t look anything like one Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. Will they have a shot Sunday afternoon against the high-powered Broncos offense?

Below is our four members of Mile High Maniac and their take on the game Sunday afternoon.

Andrew Dill (Editor):
Prediction: Broncos 35, Chiefs 17.

Andrew’s take: Personally, I don’t think the Chiefs matchup well on either side of the ball with Denver. Denver’s offense and defense will be too much for the Chiefs, giving Denver the 35-17 victory. The only logical reason I could see KC in the game is if Jamaal Charles has an unreal day, because Denver’s pass-rush and secondary will be too much for Alex Smith.

Joe Morrone (Co-Editor):
Prediction: Broncos 38, Chiefs 13.

Joe’s take: This was supposed to be the second game of a brutal four game stretch to open the season for the Broncos. However things change and the Chiefs have no shot to stay in the game, let alone win it. Their defense is beat up and their secondary is ripe for the picking. Offensively, the Chiefs have only one weapon in Jamaal Charles and their offensive line is in shambles. Peyton Manning has a huge day and the Broncos defense takes a big step forward.

Joe McQuiston (Staff Writer):
Prediction: Broncos 30, Chiefs 17.

Joe’s take: Broncos score 27 in the first half and KC scores all 17 points in the second half due to the Broncos becoming conservative yet again.

Colton Strickler (Staff Writer):
Prediction: Broncos 38, Chiefs 20.

Colton’s take:  It’s going to be very tough for Kansas City to shut down the well-oiled machine that is the Broncos offense, especially after losing 3-time Pro Bowl linebacker Derrick Johnson and defensive end Mike DeVito to Achilles injuries against the Titans. I don’t think that Alex Smith has what it takes to pick apart Denver’s new and improved defense. Based on their performance against the Titans, it looks as if points are going to be hard to come by for this Chiefs this season. If the Broncos can force a few turnovers I think the rest of the game will fall into place. It’s important to remember that Kansas City still has some very good football players on both sides of the ball. It is crucial that the Broncos take care of this divisional game first, and then prepare to head into Seattle next weekend. If they aren’t careful, Kansas City is more than capable of stealing this game right out from under them.

Thanks to our writers who took part in the article. Don’t forget that kickoff is at 4:25 PM EST, 2:25 PM MST Sunday afternoon on CBS. Go Broncos!
