Some news coming out of Colorado Avalanche camp via Mike Chambers of The Denver Post. Avs’ forward/enforcer Patrick Bordeleau will reportedly miss three months after undergoing back surgery. Patrick Roy dished out the news Thursday afternoon at the teams press conference.

Bordeleau, 28, isn’t your typical goal-scorer or player to rack up the points. Instead, the 6-foot-6, 225 pound winger is out their patrolling the third or fourth line for that matter, to add toughness and a physical presence to a young, Avalanche team.

During the 2013-14′ season where the Avalanche went on to win the Central Division title, Bordeleau recorded just 11 points (6 goals, 5 assists) while earning a plus/minus of -1.  Bordy went on to play in all 82 regular season games, serving roughly 115 minutes in the box.

There are some other players dealing with injuries as camp nears. Forward Jamie McGinn, who signed a two-year, $5.9 million deal this offseason, has been dealing with a back injury as well. The Denver Post says his back injury could cause him to miss part of training camp.

Center John Mitchell on the other hand has been dealing with migraines, which could cause him to miss some time. Here’s more from The Denver Post:

"Minor and undisclosed injuries to wingers Gabe Landeskog, Max Talbot and Ryan O’Reilly and defenseman Jan Hejda could prevent them from participating in the weekend training camp that concludes with Sunday’s Burgundy/White intrasquad scrimmage at Magness Arena."

Don’t freak out Avs’ fans, the team says if the players miss portions of training camp, it’s likely for precautionary reasons.
