One thing that probably went unnoticed this past week with all of the Super Bowl rematch talk, is that Denver Broncos linebacker Danny Trevathan was listed as questionable heading into Denver’s game Sunday afternoon against the Seattle Seahawks. Denver ended up losing a tough, grind it out game in overtime, 26-20.

Trevathan, 24, suffered a fracture at the top of his tibia in Broncos camp on Aug. 12th. According to reports, he would miss up to six-to-eight weeks. Danny was a huge part of the Denver defense last season. He would wind up leading the team in tackles and interceptions last season with 129 and 3 respectively. Trevathan’s leadership and presence has been desperately missed, but his replacement has filled in quite nicely.

More from Denver Broncos

Brandon Marshall is his name and he currently leads the Broncos in tackles with 18 total; not bad for a backup linebacker. The 25-year-old Marshall was a fifth-round pick back in 2012 out of the University of Nevada, selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the 142nd overall pick. Denver sure found a diamond in the rough with him.

Back to Trevathan. He will get another week to rest up as the Denver Broncos have their bye-week this upcoming week. Trevathan should be good to go two Sunday’s from now where the Broncos will take on the Arizona Cardinals at Sports Authority Field.

Trevathan reportedly told the team’s website that he was good to go if the Broncos needed him against Seattle, which is definitely a good sign. Having Trevathan back with this revamped defense is huge but it might take some time to gel.
