This shouldn’t surprise many Rockies fans as Jorge De La Rosa continues to weather the so-called elements at Coors Field. Despite starting the season of 0-3 with a balmy 7.58 ERA, De La Rosa battled back, going 14-8 the rest of the way.
His numbers at Coors Field always receive attention and rightfully so. This season at Coors, De La Rosa went 10-2 with an ERA of 3.08 — remarkable. The Rockies would reward the southpaw with a two-year extension worth over $25 million.
De La Rosa finished the 2014 campaign with a record of 14-11, recording 139 strikeouts over 184.1 innings, including an ERA of 4.10. Although Jorge dominated at home, his road stats were a bit more interesting. Usually, it’s the other way around for a Rockies pitcher. De La Rosa went 4-9 away from Coors, collecting a record of 5.09.
